Box Stall - Foaling Open Top Partition - Hi-Hog
Box Stall - Foaling Open Top Partition - Hi-Hog
If you are considering breeding your horses you may wish to include a foaling stall in your horse barn design.
Because foaling stalls are larger than standard stalls we often include a foaling partition between two standard stalls. Foaling partitions are designed so they can be removed to create a large temporary foaling stall, without compromising the structural integrity of your stall structure. Click on the video link below to see how the foaling partition can be re-located to create a larger stall.
NOTE: If your box stalls are set between wooden posts, you can use Hi-Hog's channel sets to create a custom length, all-plank partition. When you require a larger foaling stall you can simply remove the wood from the partition channels.
If you want to include a foaling partition please be aware that you will also require a foaling tele-post (the tele-post goes in between the stall fronts) and a set of foaling stall brackets (#4062 x 2) at the back wall of the stall.
The foaling tele-post (item 1638) is designed to fasten to the floor of your barn and to the underside of your barn ceiling. The top plate of the tele-post can extend from 8'-1” up to 14’.
If your barn's ceiling is higher than 14’, or if the ceiling does not offer a suitable fastening surface, you will need to add a foaling tele-post spreader (item 1639). The spreader inserts in between the two tele-post sections and travels horizontally to the back wall of your barn.
Removing/storing your foaling partition
Please be aware that your foaling partition will be very heavy once the wood is installed so you will need help or equipment to move the partition safely. Before you unpin your foaling partition, make sure it is securely supported.
If you plan to store the partition in your foaling stall we recommend you include an extra pair of foaling wall brackets (item 4062 x 2) to ensure both ends of your foaling partition are held securely against the back wall of your barn (we do not want your foal to get trapped behind the foaling partition).
The foaling partition wall brackets extend the connector away from the back wall of your barn so you can continue to use these wall brackets to hold one end of the partition when the partition is swung flush against the back wall of your barn.
Our open top foaling partitions are available in 10′ and 12′ lengths
Custom lengths are available
Partitions are 7’ high
Heavy duty 1.9″ OD, 14-gauge steel frame provide safety and security for your horse.
The pin connections are designed for both easy setup and a solid finished installation.
Channels are built into the frame to receive your lumber. Simply slide the lumber into the partition channel and secure the last board in place. Designed for 2×6 planed dimensional lumber.
NOTE: Lumber is not included with any of Hi-Hog’s stall frames. We can however let you know how much wood you will require based on your proposed stall order.
Foaling partition parts and options
The space between your stall fronts to accommodate the tele-post is slightly larger than required when using our standard partitions. If you are considering this option please contact Hi-Hog's designers and they will provide you with a free, scaled, labelled and dimensioned drawing of your barn proposal.
